TIMELINE OF EVENTS SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) | - MARCH - The new king of birds brings late snowstorms and a deep freeze to the Drabwurld. Visiting the ruins of Caer Scima, Javik travels with Katsa to assist refugees to the Third Tooth of Dorchadas. Javik visits Vanessa's spire, and once the snow has gone, he visits Damon and his sand worms. Maglor will be gone, having left Javik his magic ring and a shard-palantir. Javik is now the last of the Fellowship of Grumpy Old Men (and a Genie). Aragorn uses the shard-palantir to contact those that also have one.
- APRIL - Reul's Right Hand, The Winter King and Unseelie General Saber Alter recruits Javik as an officer in the military. Not one to let emotions get control of him, Javik will bust up that harp as soon as he realizes what's going on. Time not spent flipping out about harps will be used to continue patrolling Dorchadas.
- MAY - No more lockets or fairy rings or monarchs! Javik goes swan hunting, and racks up some cash to fund his travels. He stops in at the new trading post, meeting Vol'jin's brother-of-sorts, Thrall. At the Station he crosses paths with Midna, and they both head south together. Unfortunately, the road to Treun is awfully close to Seelie territories...

SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) | - JUNE - Javik attends, but does not participate in the tourneys at Treun. He reconnects with Effy, Ben and Hikaru, and meets Diarmuid and Katherine. Athame has her second litter of puppies in the city. Following the tourney he meets with Debal to discuss replacing Vridan's grave marker... and the governor gets to dogsit Prativ for awhile.
- JULY - Javik heads south to Leathann, and is entirely unaware of the hangings in Daonna until news reaches that far south.
- AUGUST - Leathann's Festival of Lights occurs during the second week. Javik attends and observes, and visits the Tower of the Oracle. While there's no obvious mark left behind by Vridan, the design of the tower is reminiscent of the architecture found on Feros and Eden Prime. Returning to the mainland, Javik teams up with Diarmuid to take down some rampant forest golems.

FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) | - SEPTEMBER - Language is of no concern to him when people lose the ability to understand one another. He returns to Treun for the wreath festival, and is knee-deep in the resulting riots. 'Wish you were here' postcard material. Ben takes a look through Javik's eyes to check up on him, and Javik doesn't appreciate it.
- OCTOBER - Samhain! Javik meets Wan (twice), argues with Damon, gets drunk with Unseelie soldiers and the Brucolac, gets harassed by Effy and Archer and dances with Vanessa. He later returns to Vanessa's spire despite her warning against it.
- NOVEMBER - After Samhain, Javik makes his yearly trip to Loch Sluagh, to visit the grave of Vridan and replace the marker. Following this he will return to Dorchadas to pick up his duties in the Unseelie army.
| |
WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) | - DECEMBER - Protheans may have evolved as hunters, but the White Hart gets the drop on him. Javik will be a bear for the remainder of the month.
- JANUARY - Travelling Dorchadas and/or a bear.
- FEBRUARY - Travelling Dorchadas. Javik catches up with Katsa at the third spire, Diasbaile.
| SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr) | - MARCH - The skeletons strike while Javik is at Damon's spire.
- APRIL - Missing fairies. Who cares.

JUNE
POST TOURNEY | TREUN
It did give him time to revisit a few places in the city, and meet with the Governor again. With everything almost back to normal following the tourney, he didn't have any trouble arranging anything, and he didn't have to pester the staff every day. Everyone could be thankful for that.
Prativ came with him, the silver skinned varren trotting obediently at his side as they entered the manor. Having run up and down the streets ahead of Javik on the way, he was panting, sides heaving and tongue rolling out from between his teeth. Being cooped up in kennels never did them any favors at all, but at least he wouldn't have to worry about him running off into the manor. The upholstery might never recover.

The governor scattered them on approach with a wave of several tentacles in shooing motions, and they obeyed, giggling. One, just old enough to walk but not to speak well, shoved her chubby hand in her mouth and tottered after him, gripping the edge of his cloak.
"Javik!" Two tentacles spread out, curled, suckers clicking in a clear gesture of greeting. "Forgive... the children. They are quite... quite curious. As cats, so they say."
no subject
Children brought with them bad memories, and a dark bend to his thoughts he preferred to avoid. Javik didn't acknowledge them at all, save for the scowl that had camped on his face. It abated slightly when Debal appeared, and all but one of the children scattered.
"There are quite a few of them." The way he said it, it sounded almost accusatory. And while he didn't know anything about cats, curiosity was a trait varren shared with them. The moment Debal entered, Prativ sprang to his feet and rushed right up to him, nosing the cloak while his tail was in danger of knocking the toddler to the floor.

"Noble families of Treun run... large. All brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews." The tentacles he'd lifted at hands splayed, as much a shrug as he could give.
"What brings you? Had you attended the festivities?"
no subject
He wondered, briefly, how many of them were considered adopted in, like Lucrezia. When the subject was moved away from the children, though, Javik gladly took the opportunity.
"I observed, yes." Another parade of alien rituals in the middle of a war. They were all starting to feel the same to him. "I intend to spend a few months in south, since I have already come all this way. There is... one matter I wished to speak to you about."
oh god I thought I had tagged this!
"Speak... freely, of course. You are quite... welcome."
you monster :'(
"Last we spoke, you mentioned replacing the marker of Vridan's grave." He was aware that certain subjects concerning the late prothean made Debal uncomfortable, so now he was being careful to avoid them. As much as he was capable of sparing someone, anyways. "I would see to that, should it be ready come November."
no subject
Only the varren's growling seemed to snap him back, and his many limbs rejoined their constant movement. "I... would welcome that. I have not known what manner of marker... what manner... would be most appropriate. Vridan had... always been very discerning. How would one of his people mark the... grave of someone great? I can only... guess. In the end."
no subject
Finally, he shook his head. "What is already there is sufficient. I am not - in my time, we could not spare the resources for graves or memorials. What you have done is already more than enough."
He thought, numbly, of the bodies of his crew that he'd left behind, dead at his own hands. If he ever set foot on that world again, he could only hope it would swallow him instantly.
no subject
"I would be glad. Yes."
no subject
"I admit I have no experience with such matters. Once Samhain has passed, however, I can see to the installation." If the original sculptor still lived, that was fine, but Javik wasn't posing for a reference any time soon. He'd let Debal handle specifics. "I planned on visiting the grave again at that time."
